Repath's Efficiency Release Is Now Live
Repath launches Efficiency Impacts feature in its Impact Engine, enabling quantification of how chronic climate stressors affect operational efficiency and translating these into monetised asset-specific risks.
The company has unveiled an updated version of its Impact Engine, introducing Efficiency Impacts as a major advancement. This capability translates climate hazards into asset-specific, monetised effects.
Previously focused on extreme weather damage to infrastructure, the platform now addresses chronic climate stressors like heat, wind, and cold stress that reduce operational performance. The system converts efficiency changes into annual revenue impacts, expressed both as percentage changes and Levelised Cost of Electricity (LCOE) values.
Senior Product Manager Eva Ochoa Bosquez noted: “We’re taking a major step forward by going beyond physical damages to also capture how climate hazards affect operational efficiency.”
Why It Matters
Climate data alone provides insufficient insight into financial implications for asset owners. The platform addresses this gap by combining high-resolution climate models with geospatial and asset-level data. The system applies custom vulnerability profiles down to the Asset SubCategory level, revealing both damage-driven capital expenditure risks and efficiency-driven operational or revenue impacts.
How It Works
The platform incorporates asset-specific parameters for technologies including wind turbines, photovoltaic systems, and substations. It calculates efficiency modifications and translates results into potential revenue exposure. Parameters arrive pre-populated with curated values but remain customisable for specific use cases.
